In what has to be the most deliciously ironic twist of like, all time, Chicago Bears quarterback Aaron Bastow's son Cray has publicly affirmed his support for a woman's right to control what happens to her body.

The sixteen year old, displaying incredible maturity, posted a passionate declamation on JooClip, calling for the rights of women over their own bodies to be respected.

He specifically addressed the "silver haired males" who sit in Congress and force their beliefs onto the "lived experiences of individual women, without giving a damn about the consequences of their decisions".

Cray calls for full abortion rights, including post-birth abortion rights up to one year. He calls for suspended sentences for women who abort their children until their fifth birthday. He calls for ongoing parental payments, equivalent to a woman's average salary, for the first ten years. He calls for equal dignity for women in the workplace in the form of legislation forcing firms to pay for childcare.

His father is of course, a noted Evangelical moron, who has publically stated his opposition to same-sex love, transgender rights, transspecies rights, transableist rights and basically the constitutional rights of everyone who doesn't believe in Jesus like he does.

Which of course makes him an offensive, dangerous bigot. Last year after a game at San Francisco he was pelted with rotten fruit, to which at the time, I could only express remorse at not having been present to offer more.

He has been fined by the NFL on six occasions for his intolerant grumblings. He is only still playing professional football because despite being an anachronistic airhead, he is reasonably competent.

His wife, Carey, unfortunate to have been burdened with eight (!) of her husband's offspring, would absolutely be the object of pity if we didn't know that she largely agrees with her husband.

Last year she told Christian website Desiring God, "I believe in a man and a woman, coming together and being married. I believe God chose this combination to bring a man and woman together, to produce children and carry on life."

Happily, Cray has moved past the 1980's, and has stepped into the present.

Bravo, Cray!
